On September 21, 2022 four Superior High School students presented their experiences at Camp RYLA 2022.  Superior Rotary sponsored the students to attend RYLA. Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) is a youth leadership camp that gives high school students hands-on active learning activities and sessions to build on their own leadership skills. RYLA 5580 is sponsored by Rotary International District 5580 for a week each summer at the University of Minnesota Crookston campus.

Claudia, Aaron, Lauren and Evie gave an enthusiastic discussion of their takeaways from this busy, activity packed week.  All of the activities and the informal interactions built leadership skills.  These takeaways included confidence building, learning from success and challenges, making new friends, supporting each other, and many more.

RYLA attendees are a part of high school Interact Clubs, which are sponsored by Rotary Clubs.  Interact clubs bring together young people ages 12-18 to develop leadership skills while discovering the power of Service Above Self.
